Newcastle.- En un partido de menos a más, pero sin exhibir un alto nivel competitivo, la selección mexicana igualó 0-0 ante la de Corea del Sur, en partido de la jornada inaugural del torneo de futbol varonil de los Juegos Olímpicos Londres 2012.

Luego del encuentro disputado en el St Jame's Park, que registró una buena asistencia de aficionados mexicanos, ambos equipos tienen un punto en el Grupo B, que comparten con Gabón y Suiza.
